Rev. Gene C. Forrest was born on Dec. 13, 1927 in Fresno, CA. He attended Southern California Bible College (now Vanguard University) in Pasadena, CA in the 1940s.
At the age of only 20 he was pastoring an Open Bible church in Montebello with his young bride, Barbara Jones Forrest. Over the course of 30 years he would pastor in La Jolla, La Mesa, Hanford, Lodi, San Jose, Salinas & National City. He also served as a missions executive and an evangelist, speaking & traveling across 5 continents.
His greatest ministry was @ 1st Assembly of God in Lodi from 1958-1968. Barbara & he returned to Lodi in 1990 to retire, but were soon asked to serve as interim pastors for Westside Assembly of God. The inspiring sermons posted on this blog represent his pulpit preaching from 1990-1991.
After 46 years of ministry, Rev. Forrest passed away suddenly from a chest aneurysm on May 17, 1994…at age 66.
